A look back: A Duluth Highlight and a Bittersweet Goodbye

Hello everyone!

It has been quite a while since my last update around Thanksgiving. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday season; whether your winter has been filled with the bustle of friends and family or you’ve found some quiet solace in the snowy landscape.

As I sit here at the end of January, I’ve been looking back at what was truly an amazing year. I managed to do 12 shows in total, but one in particular stands out when I think about my favorite moments: Bayfront Art in the Park in Duluth.

There is something special about the energy in Duluth, but this past year was next-level. It was a crazy, fun show, made even better by having incredible booth neighbors. We all know that the people surrounding your booth can make or break a weekend, and I truly lucked out with the community there.

The highlight of the weekend—and honestly, one of the highlights of my year—was being named Festival Favorite. In a sea of such talented creators, having the attendees connect with my work in that way was incredibly validating.

The Bittersweet News I’ve been so excited to return to Duluth but I recently learned some disappointing news: Bayfront Art in the Park has been cancelled for this coming year. I am super bummed, to say the least. I was so looking forward to seeing those familiar faces and enjoying that harbor breeze again. While it’s a tough pill to swallow, it makes me even more grateful for the experience I had and the support I felt from everyone who stopped by. It’s a reminder to cherish those "perfect" show weekends when they happen.

Even with that cancellation, the momentum from last year hasn't slowed down. I have so much more to catch you up on—including some surreal news involving the local paper and a very special vending machine—but I’ll save those stories for my next post in a few days.

Until then, stay warm and keep supporting local art!
