Part 1: Where Have I Been? (And a Little Honesty)

Well, hello there! If you're a regular visitor here at lumpsofclaystudios.com (and honestly, even if you're just stumbling by for the first time in a while!), you might have noticed… a bit of a silence. Okay, a long silence. My last blog post was way back in October of 2024. Yep, I said it. It's a little embarrassing, I won't lie.

But you know what? It's also an opportunity for some honest talk. Being a small business owner, especially one where your hands are literally in the mud creating every single piece, is… a lot. Like, a lot a lot.

It's not just the joy of throwing on the wheel or the thrill of a perfect glaze reveal. It's the constant juggling act of wearing approximately one million different hats. There's the actual making – the heart and soul of it all. Then there's the relentless beast that is social media, demanding fresh content and constant engagement. Don't even get me started on the cleaning (clay dust, I swear, is a sentient being that multiplies in the dark), the endless business admin, the ordering of supplies, the prepping for shows… it's a whirlwind that can sometimes leave little room for anything else, even the very website that's supposed to be my online home.

So, where have I actually been since last fall? Well, let's just say I haven't been twiddling my thumbs! Stay tuned because I’m going to really try to keep this blog going.
