Vendor Village: Community, Creation, and Inspiring the Next Generation!
After the... damp experience at Lemonade Fair, the very next day brought us to Vendor Village at Lake George/Eastman Park! This is an event I genuinely love, and mostly because it's such a fantastic opportunity to just share my art directly with the community.
One of my favorite things about Vendor Village is how many kids come through! It's always so fun to chat with them, especially those who've had a blast making clay pieces at school. Hearing about what they liked making, what challenges they faced, or just seeing their eyes light up when they connect with my pieces is truly wonderful.
And speaking of making, I can't always bring clay with me to shows, but when I have the opportunity (especially at those events that tend to be a little slower), I totally do! I honestly believe that any time you can show people even just a small part of the creative process, there's something so incredibly fun about it. People are often amazed, and more importantly, inspired! Many will talk about taking a class, and I'm always there to encourage them to take that leap and try it themselves.
I often mention the Paramount Center for the Arts, especially for anyone in the St. Cloud area! It's such a gem. During the winter, every Wednesday night, for just $10, you can go and make clay pieces, or even try your hand at a few different art forms like turning wood, making glass art, or drawing. It's an amazing resource, and local folks should absolutely check it out.
Vendor Village is always a reminder of why I love what I do – connecting, inspiring, and being part of this creative community. Thanks for making it such a special day!
